In 2014, the MC-1 Foundation was started as the MC-1 Honor Run, a fundraiser motorcycle ride for the family of Sgt. Dave Baldwin of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office (E.O.W. 1-26-2014). Sgt. Baldwin, whose radio call sign was MC-1, was killed in the line of duty after being struck on his motorcycle by a wrong-way driver.

“The difference that you have made in my life and the other families that you have helped is quite exceptional and I know that you probably do not know just how much every little thing you do means….Looking at it from a survivor’s side, I can tell you it means everything. There is so much difficulty and so many dark days in this journey and you all bring light and hope back into the picture. It is so hard to explain the level of gratitude that I have … but I want you to know that you make a huge difference in so many lives….”

– Crystal Baldwin, Widow of Jefferson County Deputy David Baldwin, January 2019

Because of your past and continued support, we are able to continue our mission of providing financial support to public service employees and/or their families who were hurt or killed while on duty providing service for their communities. In fact, in 2018 alone, we offered assistance to a number of public service employees/families, with a total of $56,266 being donated to those families.

Once again, thank you for your generous support.
